Inside the World of Boys by William Pollack
Back in High School, teasing was common to everyone, whether you were a boy or girl. Pollack, points out that boys hide emotions based on " a facade of confidence and bravado", which means they show an outside appearance to hide the inside low self-esteem and self worth, to avoid insults and gain popularity acceptance. This can often become the cause decreasing grades, poor participation and people skills according to, Pollack. Now, I don't fully agree with Pollack, because their have been many times that issues with boy's bad behavior and emotional guarding arise with problems at home or other factors such as; girls or sports.
